This is a used item and may show some cosmetic damages, such as scratches and minor wear. The snaps on the leather retaining strip were damaged by the original owner, and were replaced by me. The two sides of the snap clip together nicely, and the snap leather was treated with a liquid leather restoration compound, to aid in leather pliablity and flexibility. The sheath for the sword has some bend-over at the tip, where someone obviously let it sit against a hard floor surface, with the full weight of the sword on it. There is a belt loop, and as previously stated, a sword hilt retaining strap made of leather, with bronze-colored snaps. The exterior is a nice combination of black and brown smooth surface leather, and nice thick sides. The sides are stitched with black threads. There is a gold-painted and embossed Eagle on the front of the sheath.The twisted wood handle is in magnificent condition, and has a nice glossy smooth coating applied. The handle color is a nice redwood. Not slippery at all; Good grip. The hilt where some fantasy creatures, likely demons, and bats, are depicted has some gold paint over the base metal - The base metal is a bronzed color.The pommel has lion heads on all 4 sides, which appear to be in a roaring state. The heads to have some gold or brass colored paint applied to them, however it is mainly only on the forehead and mouth areas. This painted area only applies to TWO of the heads, rather than all four. On the other two, it is on the nose and mouth.The blade is composed of a surgical steel, made in Pakistan. The blade has a nice reflective finish to it, but it does attract fingerprints, so gloved handling or a wipe-down after handling will be necessary to maintain a perfect appearance. There are serrations about 1/3 the full length away from the tip of the blade. There are 8 serrated blade teeth. The blade edges and the serrations are NOT sharp, and have a rolled handling-safe edge to them. They will not cut.Overall Length of combined Blade AND Sheath (Shipped Dimensions) : 42.5 inches
