SPES:

WAY OF SWORD MAKING:

The balde was made of 1095carbon steel,it was Fully hand forged using the most ancient method of sword making.It has been smelted and pounded(hand forged) to decrease the remain impurities of the carbon steel and better distribute the carbon to form the blank.

<1>HIZUKURI:FULLY SHAPING THE BLADE
<2>ARA-SHIAGE: ROUGH FINISHING
<3>YAKI-IRE:HEAT TREATING
The blade would be fully hand shaping,and then heat treating (Refining) after grinding(rough finishing),then quickly oil and water quenching(Tempering) to force the carbon in the steel into a stressed state,giving it rigidity that will enable it to keep an edge.This way can improve properly the hardness and flexibility of the balde for real use.

<1>SHIAGE:FINISHING THE BLADE
<2>HI AND HORIMONO:GROOVES AND ENGRAVINGS
Hand shaping the balde after the second time polished (Finishing the blade),And two long Hi (blood groove) were made on each side of the balde to create a lighter blade while swung and balance it to achive an optimal performance.Meanwhile,engraving services will be implemented in this step.(pls contact us through message if you have somehing engrave on the blade)

NAKAGO AND MEIKIRI:FILING AND SIGNING THE TANG
This blade comes with a full length Tang which greatly enhances the strength of the sword while swung.The tang will be filed to match well with the handle,and it will be signed according to your requirements.(pls contact us through message if you want to sign the DATE or NAME on the Tang)

TOGI:SWORD POLISHING
Fully hand polished by our experience swordsmith with more than 13 process hand sharpening work by the multiple grade abrasive stone in the most traditional Japanese craftmanship way.The balde has been processed to be black color,it will not fade,also,it helps reduce rusts and looks nicer.It is sharp to cut off a bottle-thick bamboo.The point of the blade is medium length.(Chu Kissaki)NOTICE:

• Laser engraving cost $10,Etch engraving cost $20.
• Engravings on the blade toward the handle,adjacent to tsuba. Some other locations are also avaliable for engraving.
• Saya hand engravings cost $20.
• It takes 1-2 days more for laser engraving while 3-4 days more for etch engraving and Saya hand engravings.
