This is a political campaign card with the photos of Franklin Roosevelt Herbert Lehman and Jack Dempsey under the slogan “Three Champions.” The reverse side of the card has a handwritten autographed note signed by Jack Dempsey:

“To my pall Bill, Jack Dempsey. Thanks for the kindness [?]”

This card is identified in other listings has being from the 1932 presidential campaign when Roosevelt ran for President and Lehman ran for Governor of New York. I suspect that the card is actually from either the 1928 or 1930 campaign for New York State Governor where Roosevelt and Lehman ran on the Democratic ticket for Governor and Lt. Governor of New York.

In 1928 Al Smith, the four term Governor of New York, resigned from New York to run as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. A special election was held to fill the vacancy and Franklin Roosevelt was elected Governor on a Democratic ticket that included Herbert Lehman for Lt. Governor. Roosevelt and Lehman then ran as incumbents in the regularly scheduled 1930 campaign.
