letter sent Jun 22 1944 from Camp Beckinridge Kentucky (reads in part - well the 4th of july is only a few weeks away ... i guess next year there will be just plenty doing the war will be about over then .... )

letter sent August 2 1945 with San Fran return address and U.S. Army Postal Service postmark (reads in part - here is some money for you don't spend it all in one place 50 Sen in 5 cents and 10 Sen is 1 cent .... the fox hole are not very good to sleep in ... I havent got any jap yet maybe he will get me first ... etc)
