These nails are from my SP RR collection, I have personally pulled hundreds of these nails. These come from the pilings and beams from approximately 1936 to 1941. There are nails from 3 different manufacturers distinguished by a raised mark on the shank.The first row are P nails, the second row and the last 3 on the third row a V nails and the first 6 on the last row are diamonds. There nails were added to the lumber at the rail yard to identify location on the blueprints. The Diamond nails were the first used followed by the others. Normally, there would be three nails in each piling. Code Date Code. Most of the diamonds were used in 1936 and probably discontinued as six nails proved not to be enough. The last three nails on row three are varieties of the second row. Please feel free to ask questions.This is not all of the SP nails I am listing. I am listing a 1900 to 1969 set and a A-J letter set with varieties that were used from 1901 to 1909.
