Salesman Samples were a part of America\'s ingenuity...the growing textile industry a symptom of the growing population boom which really wouldn\'t be possible without the machine age which allowed the continued growth of america. These salesman samples were part of the modernism of america when salesman would go door to door with suitcases of these samples to sell to well coiffedhousewives of the period. Today these samples represent new old stock...timeless unused remnants with original labels...a must for the textile archeologist of sorts.
This offering is for ONE unused unwashed salesman sample with 3 sample colorways attached to the top of the sample that would be divine each one framed as textile art on a collage wall. A 1920\'s designer chintz...very Hollywood Glam with Victoriana and Art Deco bones to it...it has the original tag still attached to the bottom left corner...and has the customary serging sewn along the top and bottom...such a great example off 1920\'s fabrics...brand new and stored away in an attach for the past 100 years...the larger sample is dark chocolate and the other small samples attached are a creamy minty green...and two variations of white with contrary colorways. Check out the dramatic butterflies...they are sensational. Measures 36 inches wide x 34 inches long. Expect unused original old stock in a fantastic design. Flawless.
