These images have come to represent the charming buildings and soft glowing lights of The Original Snow Village. A holiday outing to a small river town was the inspiration for The Original Snow Village beginning in 1976. The hope was to recreate the feeling the town conveyed to everyone that night. The shops and neighborhoods of Main Street, USA continue to prosper and grow under the loving care of the Department 56 artists.
