Signed Lorraine Phillips For Your Decorated Bent Wood Box 1985 folk art, American, small and dainty round bentwood or band box. This Shaker type box has been hand decorated with a nice drawing on top of the lid showing a small bird perched on branches with flowers. There are red flowers in the shape of a heart and white flowers with yellow center. The side of the box is also decorated with a nice floral motif showing the red heart shaped flowers with green leaves and brown branches. There is also hearts within this decoration. All of the decoration is on a black background and looks great. The interior of the box is lined with material and is clean and in excellent shape. The box has a lift-off lid and is in good condition given it has been around for over 30 years. The box is signed and dated by the artist. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 1985Origin: USA, probably Southeastern Pennsylvania.Size: The box is 6\" in diameter and is 2 1/2\" high with the lid on. The surface of the lid shows some grain line under the paint and has minor ridges as can be seen in the first photo. The box is clean inside and out and is in great condition with a nick here and there especially along the edges. Other than that the piece is nice and has no observable problems.
