Vintage 1983 Arnart Imports Inc. porcelain octagonal imperial peacock decorative plate. Made in Japan. Preowned. Crafted in Japan and imported by Arnart Imports, Inc., 212 Fifth Ave., New York City, NY. Began as Creative Imports in 1953 and closed for business as Arnart in 2001. Often confused as a manufacturer but it’s main business was importing.

Rich cobalt blue coloration with painted gold scrolling with a high degree of gilding on the peacocks, flowers and plate edge. All in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or missing paint. Truly impressive painting design. The light blue flowers and vignettes appear to float above the cobalt background. No branding on this plate like on so many others available. The transfer method is precise.

Measures 10 1/2” X 10 1/2” X 1 1/4”T. Weighs 1 lbs 9.3 ounces.
