VINTAGE MMA RELIEF PLAQUE

Wonderful vintage high relief plaque bearing an Egyptian Owl - measures about 4-1/4"square. Made of molded or cast plaster with an aged finish, this was created by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and copied from an actual Egyptian carving - I will include the sheet detailing the plaque history provided by MMA when purchased.

Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage - edges and overall casting have been designed to mimic age with created flaws, chips and wear to reflect centuries of exposure - hook is mold set. I purchased this in the late 1980s when it was all about Egyptian artifacts and King Tut - the MMA had a whole line of these reproduction plaques. Well molded and stylized, it would be a wonderful addition to any collection or display!
