This nice original Native American Indian "Stomp Dancer" painting is very nice. The painting is signed and painted by Mars Biggoose; Tribe: Ponca. It is dated 79. (Marcellus "Mars" Biggoose was born in 1943 and passed away in 2000. He attended Pawnee Indian schools, later transferring to Santa Fe Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He also attended Haskell Indian Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. Often participating in art shows in Oklahoma, his artwork has also been featured on the cover of a book titled Sundown , a book on the history of Osage Indians and in many exhibits. He designed the Great Ponca Seal of Oklahoma. Mars also wrote poetry. He won many awards during his lifetime. This painting is in great condition and is framed, matted, and under glass.
