This is Pop Art personified.
I believe but at this time cannot be certain that this design iteration is the earlier of at least two different Ronald McDonald compositions that Alfred M. Gordon produced during his company\'s limited series of handmade McDonaldland character fiberglass sculptures. I called this iteration the \"Helmet Head Ronald\".
The nomenclature used on this iteration is different than what was used on the later Ronald McDonald sculpture made by Alfred M. Gordon Designs. SEE IMAGES: The set of nomenclature reads: \"C (for copyright) A. M. Gordon Designs, Inc. 1972\". Also, the C for copyright is drawn on Ronalds\'scollar whereas on all others it is incised/impressed.
The Alfred M. Gordon Designs fiberglass sculptures pre-date the McDonald\'s Setmakers production.
This handmade mold poured fiberglass and hand painted ultra-high bas relief sculpture was made in 1972 by Alfred M. Gordon Designs, Inc. which had been located at 2776 North Cottonwood, Orange, California 92665 and is a manifestation of small cottageindustry production.
These were made in small numbers and each example is slightly different as they were all hand worked.
This was created for and formally hung in a McDonald\'s store.
Used condition.
Has signs of wear due to age, storage, handling, etc. Please bear in mind that this artifact is over 50 years old. Has chipped off paint, minor scratches, nicks, grazing, etc
