The Baltimore Transit Company (BTC) was a private operator of buses and trolleys in the metropolican Baltimore area between 1935-1970. It succeeded the United Railways & Electric Company, which operated these services from 1899-1935. The BTC was acquired by a public entity, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, in 1990, which has run buses and trams ever since. For sale is a common stock certificate from the BTC dated February 29, 1968, for 100 shares. It measures appx 12x8 inches and is printed on heavy paperstock. This certificate is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears, no cancellation punch holes.
