The exciting history behind this piece of lunar exploration history can easily be seen in the date and printing information in the lower left of the large wallmap. On May 25th 1961, President Kennedy announced the national goal of sending an American safely to the moon. The Apollo moon landing didn't come until July 20th, 1969. These maps were first drafted in preparation for such a mission and privately printed for government use in July 1960 even before the announcement was made, and the first publication of these maps in 1961 with minor revisions by the geologic survey was enormously important in the planning of the famed mission to the moon. This is one of four maps produced, and one of three we have for sale. An excellent piece for collectors enthralled with the history of lunar exploration.Please utilize the pictures to determine the exact condition of the item.
