The Blue Angels now formally named the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron formed in 1946 as the Navy Flight Exhibition Team. They are the second oldest aerobatic team in the world after the French Patrouille de France (1931). To showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through their precision flight demonstrations.

Donning the Blue Angels insignia crest bearing the original 1949 design

are these six aviators / pilots kneeling before their performance supersonic jet aircraft (Grumman F11F-1 Tiger) in this circa 1958-61 photograph who have each signed:

Jackson Reavis, Stoney Mayock, Robert “Bob” L. Rasmussen (who later became a noted military artist), Zebulon Knott, Herb Hunter, John Damian, Jack Dewenter and Mark Perrault.

10 X 8. Very good condition with light trace of once being mounted along the bottom edge.

Today the Blue Angels continue to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through their precision flight demonstrations.
