Quite a nice lot, historic letter and two press photos of note. The letter is Byrd sending \"greetings from the Antarctic...This is my seventh Polar expedition...On December 28, 1955, I with six of my veterans, revisted Little America\'s I, II, III, and IV....The Task Force has just completed about 20,000 miles of flying and mande many new discoveries. The last ships are expected to start back at the end of February.\"

With two press photos with typed descriptions on paper:

1. Arrival of Byrd Expeditions in New Zealand, From the Frozen South, Showing Signs of Much Hardship

2. President Hoover Greets Daring Polar Adventurers...President Hoover Shaking Hands With Members of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition When the Hardy Band and Their Famous Leader Were Extended an Official Welcome in the National Capitol. High Tribute Was Paid the Daring Men Who Had Faced Peril and Hardships at the Ends of the Earth so That Man\'s Knowledge Might Be Increased.

Bit of wear and tear to edges, letter quite neat and clean, a wonderful historic Byrd/Expedition lot.
