1956 Emmett High School Yearbook, Squaw Butte Saga, Emmett, Idaho. Emmett is located in Gem County. Photos 1, 2 and 3 show the front cover, back cover and binding. Photo # 4 shows the Title Page. Photo # 5 shows the High School Buildings as they were in 1956. Photos 6 thru 13 show all the Senior Class Members. Photo # 4 show the Senior Class Honor Students: Gary Nelson, Irene Newirk and Dick Webb. Dick Webb younger sister, Sharon Webb, who was a Freshman this year. Dick Webb was also known as, My Boy Flat Top. Photos 15 thru 18 show all the Junior Class Members. Photo # 19 shows the Sophomore picture of Luellen Whitten, who was the previous owner of this yearbook. Luellen is in the bottom row, 3rd from the left. Photo # 20 shows the Cheerleaders: Sharon McClintick and Iren Newkirk. Photo # 21 shows The Third Annual Alumni Luncheon which was held November 11th in the Melba Auditorium, Forty Alumni and twenty guests attended the luncheon. In the yearbook it explains that the town was founded August 1912 by Clayton C. Todd who purchase 160 acres of land at Rock Spur, a siding on the railroad and laid out the town that year. Clayton Todd named the town after his 4 year old daughter, Melba Todd, who would later graduate in 1926. You can see Melba\'s Senior Class picture in that yearbook. Melba was also the editor of the 1926 yearbook and she also was a teacher at Melba High School . Perhaps Melba Todd attended the reunion. See Melba Todd\'s Senior picture from the 1926 yearbook.
