Finn.WEDNESDAY, March 23rd was aday Pop Armstrong (Mr. Indian)called to order the first of manyService Schools to be held in connec-tion with the 1955 program.Twenty-four enthusiastic IndianDealers and their mechanics from theEastern part of the country were onhand to receive instructions coveringthe servicing of the 1955 machines.Each morning at 8 o’clock founddealers and their mechanics anxiouslyawaiting the lessons of the day. Duringthe course of the school the dealerswere instructed on the Indian FireArrow, The Woodsman, The Toma-hawk, The Trailblazer and the Vincentmotorcycles which are also distributedby The Indian Company in Springfield.A good percentage of the dealerscame to Springfield with empty trucksbut left loaded down with 1955 ma-chines.Mr. West, Vice President in Chargeof Sales explained to the dealers thesales policy of The Indian Companyand gave them many tips on closingsales which the dealers welcomed.Mr. Paul, Indian’s Executive VicePresident, talked to each and everyone of the dealers individually in orderto become more acquainted with dealerproblems and to familiarize himselfwith dealer activity in order that hewill be able to incorporate into thecompany policy suggestions made dur-ing his conversations.Thomas Mosley Indian’s TechnicalManager, turned the complete schoolover to Pop Armstrong and as Tomsaid Mr. Indian will explain and teachyou how to repair the 1955 Indians.Among the dealers present were BobNelson, Gene Townsend, Marvin Cutler,Gordon Hogarth, Robert Chamberlain,Al Sterner, Bob Fonda, Gene Shilling-ford, D. Tracey, E. F. Smith, Wil De-Rocher, R. Dhilly, Jack S. Horowitz,L. I. Insley, H. C. Insley, A. M. Insley,C. L. Insley, David Levine, Harold Red-man, Richard J. Savage, Ralph Strong,Harold Morgan, David Grosser, LarryBaily, Robert L. Haugh, Vic DeMasters,Herman DeMasters.In leaving the Service School thedealers all acclaimed Indian as settingthe pace in 1955 both product-wise andprice-wise.15463
