Offering an ORIGINAL AUTUMN 1952 PAMPHLET REPRINTED FROM THE GENERAL MAGAZINE AND HISTORICAL CHRONICLE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA GENERAL ALUMNI SOCIETY. Pamphlet measures approximately 9.5" X 6.25" and contains 8 pages (9 to 18) from VOL. LV - NO. 1 AUTUMN 1952 ALUMNI MAGAZINE FROM PENN. PAGE 18 displays the first page of a story titled "FROM EACH ACCORDING TO HIS AGILITY" by FRED C. ELLIS '14. According to the note on page 18, ELLIS was a graduate of the WHARTON SCHOOL in 1914. At the time of the publishing of this reprint (1952), Ellis kept track of the "financial operations of a helicopter plant" (BOEING?) and made motion pictures for fun.This reprint contains a NINE PAGE EXCERPTtitled "AUTUMN LEAVES FROM A GARDEN BOOK" from a yet-unpublished book on gardening by COLONEL CLIFTON LISLE of the Penn Class of 1913 and a retired Army Colonel. At the time of this printing, CLIFTON LISLE was the CHAIRMAN OF THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT at PENN CHARTER SCHOOLin PHILADELPHIA. The note at the top of page 9 mentions that COLONEL LISLE "recently completed his manuscript of Volume III, The History of the 316th Infantry Regiment. This would make an excellent addition to your collection of gardening books, or would be a fine gift for a gardener or a graduate of PENN CHARTER. CONDITION: Paper cover shows toning and minor corner and edge bumps; pages are clean and two-staple binding remains tight and intact - see scans.
