1950 Hierros De Oaxaca Enrique A Cervantes Book From Mexico Monografias GobiernoRare - Patterned cloth portfolio with printed label mounted to upper board, 3 ribbon closures; 8.5 x 11.25 inches; complete and as issued, with 60 loose, heavy cardstock leaves, printed and illustrated (drawings and tipped-on b/w photo-reproductions) on the rectos only. Portfolio lightly rubbed; spine a little tanned. Internally nice and clean. In original plaid cloth chemise with pictorial paper label to upper board and spine, hand-mounted photographs by the Mexican artist who used his skills as a historian, bibliophile and photographer to show the power of art in iron gates (he also knew the art of the blacksmith), the definitive work on the gates of Puebla, all pages as called for in table of content, bottom tie present but broken, top and side ties present. As in the case of all his works done in his lifetime, they are handmade.
