Scheduled to meet in an All-Amputee Veterans Baseball game at the New York Polo Grounds on the night of July 26th, the \"Broken Wings\" (men minus an arm) and the \"Flat Tires\" (vets who have lost a leg) played a practice game on Randall\'s Island today and gave onlookers something to think about. Here is some of the action. Lou Boivin, of the \"Broken Wings,\" is taking a throw from teammate Dick Adelchi while Bill Elkind of the \"Flat Tires\" slides safely into second. Overall purpose of the game is to prove the physical ability of Amputees to hold jobs. Funds raised by the game will go to the building of an Amputee center, where in further research activities, as well as job guidance and placement services of vital importance can be conducted.
