Additional Detail:Postmarked December 12, 1947 from Chicago, Illinois to Berwyn, Illinois H-3156 -- NAVAJO WEAVER, FAMILY AND HOGAN, GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, ARIZONA Fred Harvey Restaurants Near the Hopi House are several Hogans where Navajos live. Unlike the Hopi, the women are the blanket weavers. They use the same crude looms and methods in vogue among them centuries ago. The art of blanket weaving, among the Navajos, was probably learned from the Pueblo Indians some three or four-hundred years ago, and the Navajos being a shrewd, business-like people, developed the art, until today they are the most skilled Indian weavers in the world.
