1947 Official Program Wichita Chisholm Trail Jubilee Sept 9-14. 24 pages with many photos. This was celebration of the founding of Wichita, KS along the old Chisholm Trail that included a rodeos, horse rider's show, daily radio show, carnival rides, turkey shoots, parades, a minstrel show, and a fiddler's contest over a period of 6 days. Pictures of Wichita's history as the airplane capital of the nation, its connection to the oil industry, to cattle drives as well as general photos of parks, churches, etc are included. Coming directly out of WWII, this celebration also included a National Security Day with free military motion pictures that celebrated America's victory in the war.
Shows some corner/edge wear and some age yellowing. Inside pages are clean, printed on glossy paper, with no writing, tears or creases.Approx. 8 1/2" x 11".
Also included is an age yellowed, very feathered handbill from one day at a rodeo.
