Macy\'s first to introduce 1947 Crosley car to New York - Shown here is the new 1947 Crosley introduced to New Yorkers by Macy\'s on August 26, 1946, first automobile to enter the low-cost field in the post-war period. The four passenger steel body sedan is powered by a four-cylinder, water-cooled, copper-brazed sheet steel high speed engine developing 26-1/2 horsepower, and has a top speed of 65 miles an hour. It operates at 36 to 60 miles per gallon of ordinary gasoline. The Crosley measures 145 inches from bumper to bumper with an 80-inch wheel base an 40-inch tread. Overall height is 57 inches, overall width 49 inches. The finish is a blue-grey.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 08-26-1946. PHOTO FRONT
