I can find no other Borzois by Oscar Mortens for saleworldwide.This is an Art Deco style Fine Art sculpture of a Borzoi RussianWolfhoundby the highly accomplished sculptor Oscar Mortens.
Sticker on bottom \"Copyright by the Mortens Studios\".It measures approximately 6 1/2 inches high by around8 inches long.Oscar Mortens went to the Academy of Fine Arts inStockholm and the Berlin Academy of Art, then came to America,opening his Art Studio making sculptures from the 1930s thru the1950s, thus a guess of the 1940s. It is made by using a metalsculpture underneath a finished and hand painted ceramic outerlayer.CONDITION: tiny losses to the head and face,one to the back as well as to the left of his chest and side and achip to the right rear leg. There is either a very old crack all the wayaround his mouth or it came off and was reattached.There are some other crazing and cracking spots to the pantat various places. I have taken a lot of photos to show all ofthe flaws of this small sculpture. It displays well.
