ABOUT THIS PATTERNMost collectors, both seasoned and new, are generally familiar with this giant among knives, so my overview will be brief. The 50 Pattern began well prior to 1915 and it has been called an Elephant Toe because of its size and a Sunfish due to its shape. Its also referred to as an English Rope Knife because many believe it was designed with heavy thick blades capable of cutting through tough rope and other such rugged materials. No matter what you choose to call it, no collection is complete without a true vintage Elephant Toe. In reality, with a single blade being located at each end, the 50 pattern is really an oversized super-heavy duty Equal-End Penknife that was made with the working man in mind.DESCRIPTIONThis Toe is a real beauty and if it were a person it would more than likely be drawing social security! It's clean and both factory edged blades work with strong walk and talk snap and no wobble while displaying a beautiful deep mirror shine. Outside of the typical rubs, these blades are outstanding. The blood red handles are gorgeous as well, each side is issue free and without the slightest wear to be found. Both bolsters, the open C double oval Case shield and backspring remain in factory new condition as well. This is a true unused Investment Grade Collectible which will positively grow in value with each passing year. Look it up and then come back and make it yours. Thanks and stay sharp!
