This card: a nice real photo (RPPC) style vintage postcard. "Henry Wing - Postage Stamps Eastland Hotel Lobby". This is the Eastland Hotel in Portland, Maine. Great stamp shop interior view, with dealer and customer. Topic: Stamp collecting, collectors, dealer, etc. Guaranteed old and original. Postally Used, with a stamp (red Arbor Day two cents), address, and postmark (Portland Maine Jan 18 1938). Found in a box of very old unsorted covers, letters, mail, etc. Sepia / brown tone to the photo image.
My scanner will sometimes give a pink cast to the scanned image, but the actual card is just the photographic sepia gray tones.Card condition, style, design, etc. is as shown. Please ask any questions you wish; earlier in the listing period is better for correspondence. Now that I am providing detailed, high resolution scanning, I will spend less time describing, more time listing. Please view posted images carefully, and use this general note as well:
Condition: Good. Some corner tip bumping, minor age wear and surface marks. There are a few crazing lines on front: a couple small craze marks at the dealer's head corresponding with where the postmark circle is on back, and a few horizontal craze lines coming into the card from the middle of the right edge, corresponding with a light crimp. Small bend line at upper right corner tip. ALSO, STAIN MARKS OF A POSTAGE STAMP OUTLINE AT THE CUSTOMER'S HEAD AND UPPER LEFT OF THAT (CORRESPONDING WITH BEING STACKED ON ANOTHER CARD OVER THE YEARS, WHERE THE STAIN OF THE OTHER CARD'S STAMP GLUE MUST HAVE TRANSFERRED HERE IN A FAINT GHOST MARK OF A STAMP OUTLINE. ALSO, BLACK POSTAL CANCELLATION LINE MARKS ON FRONT IN THAT SAME UPPER LEFT AREA, AND ALSO TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DEALER'S HEAD. On the back it is fairly clean, but some soiling, scattered marks, and a little age darkening of the paper.To be shipped in a hard sleeve, with tracking and insurance.
