Up for sale is an item from a boxI purchased at a local flea market, chock full oftravel collectibles-- postcards, maps, museum guides, town and city guides, correspondence, photos, and much more. According to the documents I found,the traveler was a young man from Massachusetts, just 17 years old,who spent most of thesummer of 1935 in Europe--- England, Switzerland, France, and mostly Germany.He was part of aYMCA-sponsored trip,and looked like he had the time of his life.
This item is a Hand Book of \"Y\" Travel in Europe, published by World Y Tours, Young Men\'s Christian Association, 347 Madison Avenue, New York City. The content of the hand book was put together expressly for each Y traveler, to better prepare him for his trip to Europe. The information included places to visit, places to shop, and people they would meet in the various countries. This handbook has a page with this information for each country. The last page in the hand book was for the young traveler to create a budget for his expenses, such as gifts and souvenirs, laundry, tips, postage, and shows. It appears the hand book was unused, so the condition is very good, all complete and intact, well-bound, normal surface soiling.
The handbook is 5 pages long and measures about 5 x 8\".
