Offered is hard to find authenticated \"Black T\" Texaco keyhole single sided die cut porcelain enamel tanker truck sign from 1934. It measures 10 5/8” x 15 ½”.  This sign was found in south Texas – Harvey and Lois Newberry owned a gas station in Mathis many years ago and this sign was passed down through the family.

It has been authenticated by The Authentication Company (TAC), #042394.They scored it at 8.9 and valued it at a minimum of $1,250. As you can see, it is not perfect but is in pretty good shape. It is missing three of the original seven split-back mounting grommets.

From Texaco’s web site: “Texaco was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1902. Back then we called ourselves The Texas Company, but when a salesman saw the abbreviation \"Texaco\" in a telegram, it became our favorite nickname.

The first Texaco star arrived in 1903, when a 19-year-old Italian refinery worker suggested we embrace the five-pointed symbol of Texas. He later added a green \"T\" - a color scheme he probably picked up from the Italian flag.”
