This is an estate pipe. It was made in France, in St. Claude, the capital of French pipe making. This was most likely a run made for a customer who would have bought pipes wholesale with their brand already on them, and then resold them at the retail level. It was also common for companies to have tobacco pipes with their company name stamped on them made to give out as gifts.

This stem is made of cumberland. I repaired a tooth gouge but was unable to color match the stem, as can be seen in the pictures. The bowl is in good shape, no cracks, plenty of life left. It has a nice open draw, the draft hole is at the bottom of the bowl, it has been reamed down to bare wood, there is is some fairly minor chamber carbonization, especially given the age of the pipe. The bowl, shank and stem are clean and ready to be smoked and were restored by me personally.

I will add a bowl coating of pipe cement made from bamboo ash, calcium carbonate and water upon request, otherwise it will be shipped as pictured. Bowl coatings add one day to fulfillment times, orders ship next business day, except on Wednesdays.
