Offered is a vintage February 19,1930 original ticket to a show to benefit the American Theatrical Hospital held at BAL TABARIN in the Sherman Hotel Los Angeles. It was for a lunch buffet with DANCE Cotillion.
This ticket came from the Walt Kinney estate find and is in like new condition and would be a nice addition for collectors.
I am offering a collection of these items and information from an estate find from the 1890s to the 1950s.
The primary person was a professional baseball player who played professionally for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Athletics, and various traveling semipro teams from 1914 to the early 1930s named Walter Kinney. There will be early baseball images that I will offer so please follow my listings. Walt Kinney got into some pranking issues in Boston when playing with Babe Ruth that are well documented. His high jinks followed him wherever he played and eventually affected his career.
He ended up in the 1930s in California and his son Jack(Walter Jr.)Kinney had this collection and much of the items are related to Jack(Walter Jr.) from the 1930s-1950s.
Walt Sr. played and managed for the Los Angeles Power and Water Department semipro baseball team in the 1930s and there are many other early images from the LA water and power company work sites, sub stations, and employee picnics and outings. It is a nice group of that company history in early times. There will be some Graf Zeppelin images taken by A.R. Hromatka that show the LA water and Power Department at work.
So the collection spans 50-60 years of historical information from Denison Texas where Walt was born in 1893 up to his passing in Los Angeles, California in 1971.
Jack(Walt Jr,) was a pilot during WW2 for the Army Air Corps and worked for the Los Angles Water and power Department before and after the war when he moved up to an executive position and was the owner of the many LA Water and power photographs.newspaper clippings from the 1920s and earlier to determine when Walt Played for who and where.
