Here is a very nice looking 2 gallon crock made by the Pittsburg Pottery Company back in the 1930s or early 40s.
This factory was located at 2801 N. Broadway in Pittsburg Kansas and was started way back in 1913, tests revealed that the available clay deposits in the Pittsburg, Ks area were of equal quality to the famous Akron, Ohio clay.
This is a nice looking two-gallon crock and perfect size for display in your kitchen or home, would look super with old wooden kitchen utensils in it for your counter.
Marked across the front in a large diamond stencil isTHE PITTSBURG POTTERY CO INC DIAMOND BRAND STONEWARE.Condition is very good, no serious damage like large chips or cracks, a couple smaller chips around the base edge, some typical manufacturing flaws and imperfections, minimal crazing, stencil is a little smeared in places but still very legible, pretty clean too inside and out.Measures about 9-1/2 inches tall and 9-3/4 inches in diameter around the top.Please see all photos provided.
