1928 Royal Doulton Hand Painted Artist Signed Dated Floral English Plate Mint Condition.

Exquisite Royal Doulton rare plate was made in 1928. Hand Painted and Signed by Artist and designed by Robert Allen. Gorgeous plate has cobalt floral swags and small multi color floral bouquets with a very fine 24k gold leaf overlay. Softly scalloped edges have a contrasting cobalt rim finished with delicate gold accents The double gold center rims frame the colorful large central floral bouquet very elegantly. Beautiful quality antique rare plate!

Robert Allen (RA) was a designer for Royal Doulton from 1870 to 1929. He became head of the design department turning out the most expensive types of china.

Hand painted Royal Doulton pieces designed and decorated by Robert Allen were marked with RA numbers as these plates are and were not reproduced in great numbers.

Has Royal Doulton mark on back, as well as date stamp 2 7 28 and hand marking (see photos).

Like new condition with vibrant colors, absolutely perfect. Gold on plate is in great condition.

Measures 10.24 inches in diameter.
