1927S.S. New York Hamburg-America Line Maiden Voyage Bronze Plaque Plate

Wording on the plaque is “Commemorating the First Arrival of the S.S. New York in Her Sponsor’s State and City, April 1927, Hamburg-Amerika Linie”. There is a raised relief of the liner above the text, with the phrases “Good Faith, Good Fellowship, Good Will”, as well as the Hamburg America anchor logo. The engraver’s name and municipality are marked in the lower right corner of the design. There is a thick paper card backing on the reverse. I believe this was originally attached to a stone plaque as I’ve seen such examples.

Condition of the plate is very good. No dents, scratches or gouges. There a few darker patina marks in places. The paper backing has pencil writing on it, as well as some dried tape residue.
