**NOTE** - SOME INTERESTING INFO ON MANATEE RIVER PARK ESTATES- During the infamous Florida Real Estate Boom of the 1920s, E. F. Hall and one other developer purchased 14,000 acres in northeastern Manatee County that was intended to be an agricultural community. They held a picnic and barbeque event to encourage prospective buyers, with 2,000 people in attendance. The development consisted of 65 blocks containing 24-38 home sites on each block. They offered five and ten-acre lots for use as small family farms for the raising of poultry, vegetables or citrus. As buyers were investing their money, the site was enlarged to 158 blocks, with land set aside for a future school. A hotel was constructed to house prospective buyers. An abrupt end to the project occurred when severe hurricanes struck the area in 1926 and again in 1928, causing investors to leave the state, and likely many people to lose either their homes or at the very least money they had invested.
