1920s Ecuador Flag Trading Card Like R52 Gum Commonwealth Insurance Kentucky:

This scarce cardwas issued by the COMMONWEALTH LIFEINSURANCE COMPANY of Louisville Kentucky.I have not been able to find this series listed in any of the guidesthat I am aware of (A.C.C., Non Sports Bible, Sports Americana ect.) but I speculate the series to have been issuedsome time during the 1920’s. The frontof the card features an illustration of a man or woman wearing the traditioncostume of the Nation holding a flag of the Nation. THIS CARD FEATURES ECUADORInterestingly theimage used is similar to that used by the Baltimore Chewing Gum co on there R52series and the D58 series issued by Webber Bread. Theback provides information about the featured country and gives the title of theseries “48 Nations of the World” (I imagine there are 48 cards in the setthen), as well as advertising for the company. TheCard measures 5 7/16 inches by 3 3/16 inches approximately. The card doeshave some slight edge and corner wear, and a surface wrinkle to the back. I have scannedthe front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the conditionfor yourself.
