1917 Photo Wendell Roberts Bauckman & sister Doris Elizabeth Bauckman, Newton MA:
$12.00

Here is a 1917 photo of brother and sister Wendell Roberts and Doris Elizabeth Bauckman, of Newton, Massachusetts. In the photo, Wendell is wearing a dark suit, white shirt and dark tie. His sister is sitting in front of him, leaning back on him, she is wearing a white dress with a white bow in her light color hair. She is holding an open book. The photographer was Kindergraphs of Tremont St. in Boston, MA. Inside the photographer\'s folder the photo is in is written Wendell Roberts Bauckman 12 yrs. 6 mo. Doris Elizabeth Bauckman 4 yrs. old 1917. If you lift up the photo, this is also written on the underside of it. I did some research and found that Wendell and Doris were the children of Harry W. and Mabel (Roberts) Bauckman. Wendell was born in 1905 in Boston, MA, but grew up in Newton, MA. He graduated from Newton Classical High School, Norwich University and received his master\'s degree from Boston University. He started working as a salesman for Greiss-Pfleger Tanning Co., and worked his way up to Vice President before leaving to start his own leather brokerage business. He was married to Marjorie Blanchard (1903 - 1981) in 1927, they had two sons. Wendell served 55 years as alderman in Newton, MA. He passed away in 1997 in Newton and is buried in Newton Cemetery. His sister, Doris Elizabeth Bauckman was born in 1913, and also graduated from Newton High School. She served as an Aviation Cadet in the Womens Air Corp. in WWII, working up to the rank of Army Major. She had enlisted in 1942. She was a graduate of Colby & Sawyer College in New Hampshire. In 1951 she married Meyer Weker (1906 - 1986) in Vermont. She passed away in 1995.The photo is very nice and clear, it\'s been in a photographer\'s folder which has kept if nice all these years, with a piece of wax like paper over it. The folder itself has a tear in the fold and some stains and marks on it, as well as rough edges and corners. Great old photo for anyone tracing the family history of the Bauckman family, or the local historian. Postage will be 4.50 to the U. S.IF OUTSIDE THE U.
