Davis Hat Co., Dallas, Texas,\" and \"Styled by Davis Hats,Dallas, Texas.\" The full name of the company was S.G. Davis Hat Company,which functioned as a wholesale hat dealer in Dallas from 1900-1928, foundedby--you guessed it--S.G. Davis. The company built a grand warehouse buildingjust south of downtown Dallas, then the garment district, in 1913; thisbuilding was recently renovated. (2007). It\'s a wonderful period building.

S. G. DAVIS HAT CO. BUILDING, 800 Jackson St. (southeastcorner of Jackson and S. Austin), designed by Lang & Witchell. When it wasbuilt in 1913 it was advertised as “facing the new Union Depot” (which hadn’tyet been built and was three blocks away). The Davis Hat Company — amanufacturer and wholesaler of men’s hats — was established in Dallas in 1900.This building might be familiar to many people for its “Office Equipment Co.sign painted on the back exterior.
