The AJAX was ordered to the Orient in December 1912. She took on a cargo of coal at Hampton Roads and loaded the submarines B-2 and B-3 on her decks before sailing via the North Atlantic, the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Cana, and the Indian Ocean to the Philippine Islands. She arrived in Manila Bay on April 30,1913. After launching her two submarines she began shuttling coal to American warships at ports in such places as Guam, the Philippines, China, Japan and Burma.
Very good condition, writing on white borders front describe each scene. Photo measures 5 1/2 x 3 1/4.
