Antique Divided Back VALENTINE'S DAY Postcard PC EMBOSSED and GOLD GILDED Postmarked 1911. Card is posted with a one cent stamp and is signed in pencil. Depicts 2 WOMEN (WOOD NYMPHS or SPRITES ??) - ONE PRESENTING A LARGE HEART TO THE OTHER. They are DRESSED rather STRANGELY - as if in CLOWN costumes, but without the clown make-up. May possibly be a FRENCH POSTCARD, but I make no guarantees. Card is in good condtion according to the Postcard Rating System with extremely mild discoloration in the form of a tiny black dot along the mid-top border and some corner wear (lower left and top right). The most marked corner wear is in the top right. I took a close-up (please see last photo) showing the bent corner and the fragile tip. The gold gilded surface is hanging by a "nail" on the very tip, so must handle with extreme care or it will come off. I do not alter the items I sell in any way, but if the gilding does not come off in transport - you might want to do your own "repair job". That might reduce the value of the card, however. It's strictly up to the potential buyer. I will pack with great care and WILL REDUCE THE PRICE DUE TO THE FRAGILE CORNER. THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY POSTCARD and a POPULAR SUBJECT, so DON'T TARRY, BUY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS TO IT BEFORE YOU! Other than the aforementioned condition issues, I see no evidence of edge wear, rips, tears, bends, or pinholes. But, please see photos and you be the judge. Actual color of the card may be more saturated and less washed out than you see on the scan(s) as phone cameras and lighting make it difficult to accurately represent the true coloring.
