History......Lion Lager is an integral part of SAB's (South Africa) heritage and a legendary brand which was first brewed in 1889 at the Newlands plant in Cape Town. Lion Lager was the biggest seller in the SAB group during the '70s and into the early '80s, with the recent comeback in the 2000’s the brand reposition to appeal to a different target audience.
As you can see these matches are very rare and produced by Lion Match Co. LTD Cape Town. Feel free to do any additional research on this if need be.
I have decided to sell my collection of matches acquired over many years, and will continue to post sales & Buy It Now as I move forward. *On orders that consist of "more" that one Matchbook / Match Cover, shipping will be combined, and a refund for postage will be issued as needed.*Match Covers with strikers and Matchbooks with strikers and matches will be shipped in an envelope ($5.15) with bubble wrap and cardboard sides for protection with tracking.
*Match Covers without strikers will be shipped inside a nice large greeting card with an envelope for protection for only ($1.15) without tracking.
