Survey Year: 1888-89 and 1892 Edition: EDITION OF Feb. 1900 reprinted Jan. 1908. Printing Year: REPRINTED IN Jan. 1908 Scale: 1:62500 (1 inch:1 mile). Contour Interval: 20\'. Sheet Size: 20\" x 16 ½\" Map Size: 17\" x 13 ½\". Printing Technique: Color Lithography.(The original survey drawing is first engraved on copper plate, that very fine engraving is then transferred to a lithographic stone for large scale printing (engravings on copper can only be used for small print runs given the softness of copper). Condition: Strongly inked with nice color, lightly toned throughout, with a tidemark along the left margin for the length of the map waxing and waning as it progresses from top to bottom; it only just touches the leftmost parenthesis on the upper left corner and recedes from that point on, never to invade the map proper again. A sharp, particularly bright example of a USGS Topographic map that includes parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, AND all of Staten Island in fantastic detail. Very Good.

NICE CHUNK OF BROOKLYN AS YOU TRAVEL THROUGH THE NARROWS (NO VERANZANO BRIDGE YET) AND CONTINUE UP PAST RED HOOK, THEN GOVERNORS ISLAND, A LITTLE BIT OF THE ISLAND OF MANHATTAN (THE BATTERY UP TO WHAT LOOKS LIKE CANAL STREET POSSIBLY, ACROSS THE HUDSON PAST ELLIS ISLAND, CAVEN POINT, GRUENVILLE, BAYONNE, ETC. KILL VAN KULL, MARINERS HARBOR, LINOLEUMVILLE, BULLS HEAD, FRESH KILLS, DUNCAN ISLAND, ARTHUR KILL, PARTS OF NEW JERSEY: MIDDLESEX COUNTY, UNION COUNTY, ESSEX COUNTY, THE NEW YORK BAY, HACKENSACK RIVER, KEARNY, CLINTON, ELIZABETH, ETC ETC.
