A finely detailed statue of a pair of horses pulling a chariot and, made in Paris France in 1905 and signed by artist French sculptor Théophile Hingre (1832-1911).

Cast spelter alloy metal sculpture, restored to its original beauty,

Weighs 31 pounds

Size is 28" wide, 8.5" deep, and 15" tall. Discovered wrapped in newspaper in the attic of an estate sale in upstate N.Y. It has been said that this remarkable sculpture has remained where it was found for generations. At the time of my purchase it was pretty rough, I took great care in restoring it to the best of my ability, last pics show how I found it. There are a few repairs I had to make including some cracks in tails and legs using a high quality epoxy, also fabricated one rail on the chariot, I straightened the base and secured it to a piece of wood cut to fit inside the base. At that time it was sanded primed and painted a golden color back to its original beauty. There are 24 pics, the last 6-7 pics are from before I did the repairs. It is signed by the artist and originally purchased in Paris France as the original metal stamp is still attached. There is also a brass tag indicating the name of the artist “T. Hingre” and the year it was made (1905)
