1903 ERNEST NISTER \"FLORAL MESSENGERS\" SIX PART CALENDAR, BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMEN:
$120.00

In this listing we are offering a six part calendar with finely detailed designs showing beautiful young women. The calendar is titled \"FLORAL MESSENGERS\". Each of the six sections of the calendar, which are printed on card stock, show the days of two months. Also, each of the six sections has a quotation at the bottom from a notable person. Each section displays images of beautiful young Victorian women in their very fancy outfits.
Each of the six components measure 10 1/4 inches long by 4 7/16 inches wide. The first card, which has the months of January & February 1903 has a line of printing at the bottom border. The bottom edge of the first card has the following wording in tiny print: \"Ernest Nister, London\" & \"Printed in Bavaria\" & \"E. P. Dutton & Co., New York\". Ernest Nister was a publisher, printer and sometimes also the illustrator of postcards, calendars, greeting cards and books for children. He is credited with creating the first automatic pop-up books. Born in Germany he later had an office in London.
Originally this calendar would have had a tiny thin light pink silk ribbon which went through the holes at the top & held the six components together. The ribbon is no longer present. But, a tiny fragment of the ribbon remains on card two thus providing us the info as to what the ribbon looked like.
There is a thin dust shadow line on the back of card six in the group. There are some minor tiny brown spots on the top front of card two. There is a faint dust line 2 inches down on the top front of card three. There are no chips, no creases, no bends, & no repairs. Otherwise, all of the six components are in solid & very sound condition. Apparently this is quite rare calendar as we have never see another in our 56+ years of collecting & dealing in paper ephemera.
Please examine the photos closely and purchase based on your own judgement as to condition and value.
