I have no idea who these people are (were), but they sure were having a good time at a cottage at Higgins Beach, Scarborough, in southern Maine in 1895. There are at least four women, one man and a dog. The man is dressed at times in what looks like female clothing. These people have a good time posing. At one point, they seem to be having others over for a picnic or some kind of outdoor dining -- maybe a lobster bake. I can\'t see what food they are eating.These were found in my grandmother\'s farmhouse in Maine in the 1980s after she died. She was only 2 at the time these were taken, and all my other older relatives are gone, so there is no way to identify the people in the photos. The photos are attached to thin cardboard, about 1/16 of an inch thick. They are not signed, but each is labeled Higgins Beach \'95. I don\'t know much about old photos, but I believe this technique was called sepia. A couple of the photos appear to have some color added. The photos measure approximately 4.5\" x 3.3\" and are mounted on cardboard measuring about 5.25\" by 4.25\".These would look great framed on the wall of a still existing Higgins Beach cottage!
