This photo is part of a MUCH larger and very eclectic collection of photos and documents that was purchased in Europe several years ago. The acid free sticker on the reverse of this photo was part of the previous owners collection and catalog system.

Up for sale is an 1892 photo of María de las Mercedes, Princess of Asturia. María de las Mercedes de Borbón y Habsburgo-Lorena; 11 September 1880 – 17 October 1904) was the eldest child of King Alfonso XII of Spain and his second wife, Maria Christina of Austria. She became Heir Presumptive to Spain. This photo was taken when she was approximately 12 years of age.

The front of the photo has writhing in Dutch. The reverse says Valencia.

Condition:

The front has writing and glue residue around the image, likely from a previous paper matte that was attached at some point. The back has areas where the photo mounting paper was torn perhaps when it was removed from an album.
