1890’s Fredrick’s Buck Ewing. Ewing is a member of the Baseball HOF. He is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Most baseball collectors should know the name. The knuckle heads that sell this type of stuff should definitely know the name and the face if they call themselves the top of the game. I know what Michael Jordan looks like. I know what Honus Wagner looks like. I know what Buck Ewing looks like. These are all familiar names. Familiar faces. Faces I have seen as a sports fan more than I’ve seen the faces of almost anybody. If I saw Michael Jordan on the streets, I would spot him in a second. This image has been shown to a few sale houses. It was quite awhile back. When I first heard of the mighty apps. Magically the image passes against the known images of Ewing without a hat, but not with a hat on. How can that be? Simple math right? The apps base start point for the facial comparison is by measure the facial features based off of hairlines. Yes hairlines. Whatever little app you play, check my theory. Click the little button and then look at the side by sides. The hairlines are the reference. Do I have to explain. I do because you wouldn’t believe how many people still talk about these apps like they are worth anything. Camera angle alone changes hairlines aline(or angle of head if you will). Balding? Hat? The factors can go on and on. I know a few names of people who are considered experts in newly discovered baseball images. I know at least one tries to look at the photographs from a medical standpoint. That means you King Kahoona. The key is to look at a photograph from a photographers standpoint. Go figure eh Kahoona? This was shown to Heritage with the recognition results. Guy tells me “wrong eye color.” First of all cute conspiracy. Second of all here to expose. Eye color? One image was sepia, the other black and white. I asked him how many colors were available on 19th century photographs? They play stupid, but they’re more of crooks. They’re actually both. It’s kind of funny and annoying. Is there a word for that? I have stuff in uniforms that pass the apps. They been shown around. Nice little game. Seems that’s all this country is nowadays.
