This is a small, pocket size map showing all of the counties in Indiana and the number of representatives allowed per county. I think it is really an advertisement for Joseph T. Fanning, who is running for election to the position of Clerk of the Indiana Supreme Court. The year is 1890.The item consists of paper, folded in half vertically. The front side shows a color image of the State of Indiana with all the counties.The inside lists all of the counties and the number of delegates for each one.The back side reads \"Compliments of Joseph T. Fanning of Marion County, Candidate for Clerk of the Supreme Court, Subject to the decision of the Democratic State Convention, August 28th 1890\".There is a pencil mark \"3-\" in the upper right corner of the front. There is also slight wear to the item and light-related yellowing on the back page. Otherwise, no tears to the paper that I can see.The advert measures 3-1/4\" wide x 5-5/8\" high (folded)
Joseph T. Fanning served as a clerk of the Indiana Supreme Court in 1890.He was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Justice Joseph Mitchell. He served from December 1890-January 1893.I have tried to describe any issued with these items as much as possible.
