This fantasticcard was issued by the W.Duke Sonsand Co. as an insert premium in their brands of Duke Tobacco and Cigarettesduring 1889. These cards are from afairly scarce series of 50 cards entitled , “COINS OF ALL NATIONS”. The series is listedas N72 in Burdick’s American CardCatalogue. The front of the cardfeatures a caricature of the people of the nation as well as an illustration ofone of the countries coins. The backfeatures a list of all of the cards in the series as well as advertising forDuke’s Cigarettes. This card features NEWFOUNDLANDand the 2 DOLLAR COIN The Lithographyfor the card was done by Knapp and Co. of New York The Cards measures 2 3/4 inches by 1 1/2inches approximately. The card has some areas of lighterdiscoloration, but it has relatively nice corners and is free from majorcreases. I have scanned the card fairly large for you to be able to judgecondition for yourself. This is a greatcross-over collectable sought after by Coin Collectors and Card Collectorsalike. Don’t miss out on this 126 yearold American Lithographic Antique.
