1888-1892 Benjamin Harrison Silver Presidential Campaign Tin Shell Disc w/Tabs:

It's difficult to tell if this 1.75" silver colored, embossed metal tin disc was from the 1888 or the 1892 presidential campaigns when Benjamin Harrison ran for the top job. Because there's a mate to it for his democrat party opponent, Grover Cleveland,they could have been used in either year, or for each, since they ran against each other both times. Ben won in 1888 when Grover ran for re-election, then Grover beat him in 1892 when Ben ran for re-election. Sorry, we weren't around at that time to know for sure what year this is.
And we aren't exactly sure what its use was with the two, sharp prong things which got bent over - perhaps they went on a cloth campaign parade hat. But it's too big to be a tobacco tag, which also had prongs on them. We are also listing a similar item for Ben, but it's gold colored.This isin nicecondition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase.
